Located in the heart of Barichara, the Emilio Pradilla González Cultural Center is an emblem of the artistic, historical and architectural heritage of the municipality. This charming colonial precinct, built with walls of stepped tapia, terracotta roofs and stone and brick floors, preserves the essence of the old Santander mansions. Around its central courtyard there are wooden corridors that house permanent and temporary exhibits of art, history and local culture.
Upon entering, visitors are enveloped by a warm and authentic atmosphere, surrounded by interior gardens, sculptures and ornamental plants that embellish the environment. On its walls hang paintings, portraits and works that reflect the identity and artistic richness of Barichara. Every corner tells a story, from the old movie projector to the hand-carved sculptures, vintage objects and handcrafted pieces proudly displayed.
One of the most outstanding spaces is the exhibition hall where local and national artists find a place to show their creations. There is also a special tribute to the master Humberto Muñoza renowned cultural manager in the region. The Casa de la Cultura is not only a living museum, but also an active space for workshops, educational activities, cultural events and community meetings.
Visiting the Emilio Pradilla House of Culture is a sensory and emotional experience that connects the traveler with the deep soul of Barichara, its art, its history and its people.
